Pro Cyclist Riding for Cancer Support Community

alison-tetrickWe are honored to be the beneficiary of Professional Cyclist, Alison Tetrick’s latest ride — the Levi’s GranFondo.  Alison is a decorated athlete with many rides and accolades to her name, as well as a large following in the cycling community.  While she originally connected with the National Cancer Support Community through the Amgen Tour of California and Breakaway from Cancer, Alison wanted to use this ride as an opportunity to support those facing cancer in our community, while supporting a greater mission that she knows and loves.

Alison explained why she chose CSC for her ride, “When the Kings Ridge Foundation asked which charity I would like to raise money for me, I was excited to be able to select Cancer Support Community San Francisco Bay Area.  As a professional cyclist, I know the importance of a team and how that can impact your performance and outlook.  I have been working with Amgen’s Breakaway from Cancer for several years and love how Cancer Support Community provides free resources to those affected by cancer in local communities nationwide.  Since I have lived in the Bay Area for 9 years, it was important to me to give back to those providing the support to my local community.  CSC San Francisco Bay Area has a great program for children who are facing cancer in their family.  I know the importance of having a strong community around me, and I hope you are able to check out CSC if you need a community too!  The Bay Area has been such an important part in my life and development through my cycling career, I hope to impact those needing resources when touched by cancer.”
