Volunteer Opportunities

Front Desk

Be the first friendly face our members see when they walk in the door.  This position consists of answering and directing phone calls in a friendly and professional manner, keeping our kitchen and group rooms tidy, and various other projects.  The ideal candidate has benefited from our programs and services and is comfortable in a customer service role.

Workshop Coverage

Assist our wonderful workshop presenters.  Help set-up and break-down the room, and sign participants in. Must be able to lift 25lbs.

Mailings

We produce several mailings for our various programs and events.  Help get these important pieces out in a timely and efficient manner.

Pre-Event Volunteers

We host many special events throughout the year, as they are one of the biggest ways we fundraise to support our free programs.  If you are detail-oriented, organized, and love logistics, we may have just the project for you.

Special Event Volunteers

Our special events range from community days to a high-end dinner gala and each of them needs professional, organized, and friendly volunteers to make them a success.  Specialty volunteers are also often needed at our events, ie. photographers. If you are interested in helping at any of our special events, please contact Carol Louisell, Director of Special Events.

Leadership Volunteers

Leadership roles, such as our Board of Directors and Leadership Council are vital to the success of Cancer Support Community.  We are always looking for dedicated, professional individuals with a passion for making an impact – helping us to reach more people facing cancer each year.

If you are interested in a leadership opportunity, please contact Rob Tufel, Chief Executive Officer, at 925.953.1210.
