Dear Friends,
The cancer experience can affect us in many ways: physically, emotionally, financially, socially, and even spiritually. And so our programs and services at Cancer Support Community are essentially ‘holistic.’ Together, we find hope and healing in body, mind and spirit.
As you may know, we’ve been looking for some time for a new location. Our center in Walnut Creek has served us well, but we’ve outgrown the facilities. More importantly, we have longed for a site that is more of a pastoral, retreat setting — where the land itself is also a healing entity.
And now I’m delighted to inform you that we have found it! We have recently secured the 5.75-acre parcel next to the Lafayette Reservoir. Our vision is to create there a beautiful, rustic campus for health, hope and healing.
We have a long way to go to develop the property and to raise the funds to make it possible. But we hope to move to the Lafayette site by the end of 2020, in time for our 30th anniversary of service to the community.
Meanwhile, there will be many opportunities for you to learn more about the new campus, and to share your ideas and support. I look forward to continuing the journey with you!
In gratitude,
