Cancer Support Community San Francisco Bay Area has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide.
Occurring this year on December 1, #GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday to kick-off the holiday giving season and inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.
We hope you’ll support us this #GivingTuesday by making a gift and letting the world know that you are truly making a difference in the lives of those facing cancer. Below you’ll find resources and ideas for how to harness the power of your personal network (social media, email, etc.). Whether you share an #UNselfie, use one of our ready to use icons, or create your own images, you will be helping to raise awareness for our organization and the free, direct services we provide for cancer patients and their families.

The #UnSelfie, or the selfless selfie, is a powerful way to show how you are giving and why giving is important to you.
How do you #UNselfie?
1. Take a “selfie” with a caption (or have it on a sign in the picture) explaining how or why you and/or your friends are giving this year.
2. Tag/Mention Cancer Support Community San Francisco Bay Area (see our social media links above) and use the hashtag #GivingTuesday and/or #UNselfie.
3. Post to Facebook and/or Twitter, or email it to your friends and family encouraging them to participate.
