The CMG Foundation has been a generous contributor to Cancer Support Community San Francisco Bay Area for several years now, and in 2019, the company’s founder and CEO, Chris George, pledged again to match up to $150,000 in individual donations through CSC’s end-of-year appeal for donations.
Many companies align their philanthropy with their business expertise; in CMG’s case, housing is a critical focus for the company nationally. In 2012, however, CMG’s philanthropy took a more personal turn after their Executive Vice President Kim Callas was diagnosed with cancer. Ms. Callas joined the CSC Board of Directors that year, and the company began supporting Ms. Callas’ involvement with major donations. The philanthropic partnership is a perfect fit for CMG’s motto of “every customer, every time, no exceptions, no excuses.” The company’s commitment to service and excellence for all their customers is similar to CSC’s mission to serve every person who comes to us affected by cancer and to help them become healthier, live longer, and live better.
Mr. George is an east bay native who grew up in Contra Costa County and graduated from Alhambra High School. He is not only the founder of CMG, but he’s the inspiration and the cultural leader of the company, and we at CSC are proud and grateful to have him as such an outspoken and generous leader in our community.
