More Ways to Give
Make a Contribution Through Your Donor Advised Fund
A donor advised fund (DAF) is a charitable giving program that allows you to combine the most favorable tax benefits with the flexibility to support your favorite cause. If you have a Donor Advised Fund, DAF Direct enables you to recommend grants to Cancer Support Community San Francisco Bay Area directly from your DAF. Simply fill out the form on the right (or on our Donate page) and you will be prompted to login to your Donor Advised Fund account to complete the transaction. Always review plans with your professional financial advisor.

Securities as Physical Certificates
You should send the stock certificate(s) along with a transmittal letter by certified mail to:
Rob Tufel, CEO Cancer Support Community 3276 McNutt Avenue Walnut Creek, Ca 94597
You should also sign the back side of the certificate with a signature guaranteed by a guarantor institution such as a commercial bank. Gift date will be the postmark date of the mailing.
Gifts of Highly Appreciated Stocks
Giving stocks that you have held for longer than one year is a great way to support Cancer Support Community. If you donate stock that has increased in value since you bought it, and if you itemize deductions, you can take a charitable deduction for the stock’s fair market value on the day you give. You’ll also avoid capital-gains taxes on the increase in value over time, which you would have had to pay if you sold the stock then gave the charity the cash proceeds.

IRA Charitable Rollover
As of December 18, 2015, the IRA Charitable Rollover was passed by Congress and signed into permanent law by the President, allowing taxpayers age 70 ½ or older to transfer up to $100,000 annually from their IRA accounts directly to charity without first having to recognize the distribution as taxable income. Your plan administrator may issue a check directly to Cancer Support Community.
Deja tu legado
Many Cancer Support Community supporters have included us in their wills or with another type of legacy gift. Their foresight, and yours should you choose to join them, strengthens and helps cement the future of CSC, ensuring our wonderful community is here for years to come. Legacy gifts make an impact past our lifetime, allowing Cancer Support Community to support those facing cancer many years from now. We have been a source of help and hope for patients and families for over twenty years. During that time, over 20,000 of us have benefited from the myriad of counseling, support groups, exercise, nutrition or education programs. Please click here for more information about legacy giving or contact Libby Eppinga at 925.933.0107.
